American automotive startup Aptera has announced an electric vehicle that is powered by solar energy and does not need special charging. It is promised that the car in the maximum configuration will be able to travel up to 1,600 km on a fully charged battery.

The three-wheeled vehicle can accommodate up to two passengers with a pet. It is noteworthy that the body is made of composite materials – due to this, its weight, depending on the configuration, will be from 816 to 998 kilograms. The roof of the electric car is completely covered with solar panels, which, according to the manufacturer, can charge the battery for about 70 km per day. True, there is an unpleasant nuance: during the movement, the battery does not recharge.

In the basic configuration, the electric vehicle is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 25 kilowatt-hours – it has a power reserve of 400 kilometers. Engine power – 134 hp from. With it, the car will be able to accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.5 seconds.

The family also provides models with 40 and 60 kWh batteries with a power reserve of 640 and 960 kilometers, respectively. And in the maximum configuration, a battery with a capacity of 100 kilowatt-hours (power reserve up to 1600 kilometers), a 201 hp engine will be installed. and four-wheel drive.

The Aptera has a complex streamlined shape with a drag coefficient of 0.13. For comparison, the Tesla Model 3 has a value of 0.23. The cost of the car starts from $ 25,900 and goes up to 46 thousand.
