It has long been rumored that Xiaomi is preparing to release a new camera phone that will offer users 12x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom.

Now, the Letsgodigital resource, using published patent images, has created high-quality renderings of the new Xiaomi smartphone, which really surprises with its design. Patent images were only published today in the database of the China National Intellectual Property Office.

The entire front panel of the device is occupied by a huge display, which bends to the rear panel. There are no buttons on the sides of the device, just as there are no holes and cutouts for the front camera, but in this case there is no need for it and that’s why.

Today, when even budget smartphones get 3-4 modules in the main camera, this seems rather strange. However, those who understand photography understand that in most cases, this number of modules does not imply that users will be able to get great shots in a wide variety of scenarios. This is often just a marketing move that impresses less experienced users.

The patent also states that the manufacturer is considering the release of another version of this smartphone, which will receive a glass back panel in the camera area. Xiaomi has released similar smartphones since the time of Xiaomi Mi 8.
